Lauren is a loving 2-year-old who is always on the go and loves to be cuddled. She loves her toy taco truck and reading books. Lauren also loves art, painting, drawing and stickers.
n
nEverything was fine up until December 2019. Lauren had been sick for ten days with a fever and had been to the doctor four times. Her parents knew something was not right. Finally, a blood test at Randall Children’s Hospital revealed Lauren had Infant Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia.
n
nHer treatments started immediately, and she was admitted beginning her long journey of treatments. Lauren spent the next 8 months in the hospital receiving daily chemotherapy and several lumbar punctures and bone marrow biopsies.
n
nThen COVID 19 hit, and Lauren and her mom’s time in the hospital meant complete isolation. Finally, in mid-July of 2020, Lauren was released to go home. She must take oral chemotherapy every day for the next year.
n
nLauren has endured so much in her young life but continues to be sassy and on the go despite her daily treatments!
n
nLauren will be adopted as a Sparrow to Gresham High School. Students will work hard to not only love and support her but also raise money for Lauren through sponsored community service for medical and daily needs.
