Dennis is 11 years old and is in 6th grade at White Mountain Middle School. He loves the Portland Trail Blazers, listening to worship music at church, and making people laugh.
Dennis will eventually attend Eagle Point High School, so being the Sparrow for this school is extra special for him and his family.
Dennis was born with spina bifida and hydrocephalus. He had surgery on his lower spine and surgery to install a shunt when he was two days old.
Dennis has permanent damage to his spinal cord which makes it impossible for his spine to receive messages from his brain. This prevents Dennis from walking and standing on his own.
Dennis has had surgeries on his hips, spine, tendons, 2 shunt revisions, and a major bladder surgery that kept him in the hospital for a month in 2020.
Dennis will continue to have follow-up surgeries throughout his life. He is currently enrolled in physical therapy.
Although Dennis has had quite an extensive medical journey, he has never let it dim his light. He remains joyful, kind, compassionate, and loving towards others. He is determined to always keep his head held high and keep a smile on his face.
Dennis will be adopted as the Sparrow to Eagle Point High School. EPHS Students will work hard to earn money for Dennis through sponsored community service.
