Sweet Juliet, affectionately called “Miss Baby” by her family and friends, is an adorable, intelligent, and curious little girl who will turn 2 years old in March of 2025. Juliet loves to dance, be outside, and everything related to Elmo.
This past summer, Juliet’s parents noticed a small, unusual bump above her ear that continued to grow. Along with this, Juliet wasn’t eating and didn’t seem to be feeling well.
Doctors ran tests and discovered that Juliet’s platelets were dangerously low. She was life-flighted to Portland, where she spent close to a month in the hospital.
On August 6, 2024, Juliet was diagnosed with B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia.
Juliet began treatment immediately, which included steroids, IV chemotherapy, spinal taps with chemotherapy injections, and several bone marrow aspirations.
Side effects from treatment have been hard. Juliet stopped smiling for a few weeks and almost lost the ability to walk. In addition, she’s struggling with daily nausea.
Although Juliet’s battle with cancer has only just begun, her parents know that she is a fighter. Even at her young age, Juliet, shows strength and fierce determination, serving as an inspiration to all who meet her.
Juliet will be adopted as a Sparrow to Summit High School in Bend. Students at Summit will work hard to earn money for Juliet through sponsored community service, supporting her and cheering her on as her family continues to navigate her medical journey.
