Read Parker's Story

Parker is a 13-year-old boy who loves playing baseball and the trombone. He also loves being with his family, especially his younger brother. The two of them love riding dirt bikes together.
n
nOn November 25, 2020, Parker was diagnosed with Acute Myleloid Leukemia (AML). Immediate treatment was required, so Parker was rushed to Doernbecher Children’s Hospital in Portland.
n
nParker has spent over 65 days in the hospital receiving treatments and overcoming hurdles due to a few adverse reactions his body has had to the chemotherapy.
n
nIn January 2021, Parker and his family received great news. Parker’s younger brother, Ryder, is a perfect match for Parker’s needed bone marrow transplant. For Ryder, it means the world to him to help save his brother’s life.
n
nParker has now endured three rounds of chemotherapy and is scheduled for the bone marrow transplant at the end of March 2021.
n
nTo prepare for the transplant, Parker will undergo an intensive ten-day chemotherapy treatment.
n
nParker has had a very challenging year and been through so much. He continues to be brave, optimistic, and full of joy.
n
nParker will be adopted as a Sparrow to Cascade Christian High School. Cascade Students will work hard to raise money for Parker through sponsored community service.
