Soleil is a happy, chatty three-year-old who loves music and dancing more than anything! She loves music, dancing, princesses, and all things Disney!
In May 2020, Soleil became sick and started vomiting. Doctors believed it was just a virus, but when it continued for more than six weeks, her parents knew something was not right and took her back to the hospital.
A CT scan revealed that Soleil had a brain tumor and immediate brain surgery was scheduled. On June 4th she was transferred to Doernbecher Children’s Hospital where doctors removed the brain tumor.
Soleil’s treatments consisted of months of chemotherapy and multiple rounds of stem cell transplants to help her body fight this rare type of brain cancer never seen before by doctors.
These treatments have been difficult for Soleil and her family. Over the course of a year, she spent more time in the hospital than at home.
Then, in the Spring of 2022, an MRI revealed the cancer had returned. A second brain surgery was done to remove the new growth in her brain. Since cells were also found in her spine, she will spend six weeks at Seattle Children’s Hospital to fight the cancer through Proton Beam radiation.
However, Soleil is strong. Although she has endured a great deal in her young life, she continues to be a warrior and an inspiration to those around her as she fights this battle.
Soleil will be adopted as a Sparrow to West Sylvan Middle School. Students will work hard to not only love and support her but also raise money for Soleil through sponsored community service for medical and daily expenses.
