Violet is a sweet 5-month-old baby girl who loves her family, especially her two older siblings, Greyson, and Clarice. She is considered a miracle baby and will melt your heart with her sweet smile and deep blue eyes.
Violet was born with a very rare and extremely life-threatening condition called cloacal exstrophy (OEIS).
OEIS involves many birth defects including omphalocele, bladder exstrophy, cloacal exstrophy, spina bifida, clubbed feet, hip dysplasia, and scoliosis kyphosis.
Violet has endured many surgeries and is scheduled for several more to take place within the first few years of her life. In 2024, she will have surgery to untether her spinal cord.
Violet requires medications to help her gain weight, she is fed through a g-tube, wears braces and bars on her feet, and wears a full-body harness at night to help with her hip dysplasia.
Violet and her family will travel to Portland often to see many doctors. She will continue to receive specialized medical treatment for her entire life.
Violet was born with an extremely complex medical condition that has been scary. Despite that, her family says Violet has been one of the most amazing blessings in their lives. She is an easy-going baby who brings much love and joy to their family.
Violet will be adopted as the Sparrow to Hedrick Middle School. Hedrick students will work hard to earn money for Violet through sponsored community service.
